The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
