The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
