The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
