The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
