The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
