The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
