The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
