The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
