The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
