The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will now call the guards! 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
