The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
