The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 or orders piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
