The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
