In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
