The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or orders piety? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
