In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
