The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
