The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
