The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
