The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
