In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
