The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We will now call the guards! 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
