The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 And striking off fire by dashing their hoofs. 2 Then those that make raids at morn, 3 and leave behind a cloud of dust 4 Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe); 5 Verily man is most ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And is himself witness to it, 7 And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 And the secrets of the hearts exposed, 10 That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day? 11
