Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 And strike sparks of fire, 2 Then those that make raids at morn, 3 thereby raising clouds of dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 That man is ungrateful to his Lord 6 And indeed, he is to that a witness. 7 And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 and all that is [hidden] in men's hearts is bared 10 Most surely their Lord that day shall be fully aware of them. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
