Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the snorting chargers, 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 then raid by the dawn, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 thereby storming [blindly] into any host! 5 That man is ungrateful to his Lord 6 And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 He certainly has a strong love for wealth and riches. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
