The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 sparks of fire striking, 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 raising a trail of dust, 4 which engulfs the enemy. 5 That man is ungrateful to his Lord 6 and surely he is a witness against that! 7 And violent is he in his love of wealth. 8 ۞ Is he not aware that when whatever lies (buried) in the graves is overthrown; 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 On that day will their Lord be perfectly informed concerning them. 11
