The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the racers, panting, 1 And striking off fire by dashing their hoofs. 2 while running during a raid at dawn, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 cleaving there with a host! 5 surely, man is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 And indeed he is ardent for the love of good (wealth, becoming greedy). 8 ۞ Knoweth he not - when that which is in the graves shall be ransacked? 9 And that within the breasts is obtained, 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
