The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 while running during a raid at dawn, 3 Then, therewith, with their trail of dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful; 6 and he himself is a witness to that, 7 And most surely he is tenacious in the love of wealth. 8 ۞ But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered 9 And what is in the breasts is made apparent? 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
