The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 sparks of fire striking, 2 then raid by the dawn, 3 and blaze a trail of dust, 4 which engulfs the enemy. 5 Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And indeed, he is to that a witness. 7 And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. 8 ۞ But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered 9 And the secrets of the hearts exposed, 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
