Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the racers, panting, 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 And scouring to the raid at dawn 3 Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust, 4 thereby storming [blindly] into any host! 5 Verily man is most ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And verily to that he is witness. 7 And verily, he is violent in the love of wealth. 8 ۞ Is he not aware that when whatever lies (buried) in the graves is overthrown; 9 And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest- 10 Verily, that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) their Lord will be Well-Acquainted with them (as to their deeds), (and will reward them for their deeds). 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
