Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

(I swear) by the snorting chargers (of the warriors), whose hoofs strike against the rocks 1 then raise sparks of fire (by their hoofs), 2 then raid by the dawn, 3 Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust, 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 Verily man is unto his Lord ungrateful. 6 And verily to that he is witness. 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ Does he not know that on the day when those in the graves are resurrected 9 and that which is in the chest is brought out, 10 Verily their Lord on that Day will be of them Aware. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
