Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Oh, the chargers that run panting, 1 And strike sparks of fire, 2 And raiding at dawn 3 raising a trail of dust, 4 Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe), 5 That man is ungrateful to his Lord 6 And lo! he is a witness unto that; 7 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. 8 ۞ Is he not aware of the time when the contents of the graves will be brought out? 9 and the secrets of the hearts are laid bare (and examined)? 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
