Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the snorting chargers, 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 as they gallop to make raids at dawn, 3 So thereupon raising dust. 4 Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe), 5 Verily! Man (disbeliever) is ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And indeed he himself is a witness to it. 7 And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense. 8 ۞ Knows he not that when that which is in the tombs is over-thrown, 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
