Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 sparks of fire striking, 2 And the chargers at dawn, 3 and blaze a trail of dust, 4 Then rush thereby upon an assembly: 5 surely, man is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 He certainly has a strong love for wealth and riches. 8 ۞ But does he not know that [on the Last Day,] when all that is in the graves is raised and brought out, 9 And the secrets of the breasts are made known, 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
