The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 then raise sparks of fire (by their hoofs), 2 as they gallop to make raids at dawn, 3 raising a trail of dust, 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 Verily! Man (disbeliever) is ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And is himself witness to it, 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not - when that which is in the graves shall be ransacked? 9 And what is in the breasts is made apparent? 10 surely on that day their Lord shall be aware of them! 11
