The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 blazing a trail of dust, 4 And cleaving their way therein into the host, 5 Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord. 6 And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 and the secrets of the hearts are laid bare (and examined)? 10 that on that Day their Sustainer [will show that He] has always been fully aware of them? 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
