Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the horses) that charge snorting, 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 Then those that make raids at morn, 3 and blaze a trail of dust, 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord. 6 and to this, behold, he [himself] bears witness indeed: 7 And indeed he is ardent for the love of good (wealth, becoming greedy). 8 ۞ But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered 9 And there shall be brought to light that which is in the breasts? 10 surely on that day their Lord shall be aware of them! 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
