The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Quraish (Quraish) before Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
THE STARTLING CALAMITY. 1 What is the striking (Hour)? 2 And what have you understood, what the event that terrifies the hearts is! 3 On that Day people shall become like scattered moths 4 and the mount-ains like tufts of carded wool. 5 Then as for him whose balances are heavy, 6 will have a most pleasing life. 7 but he whose weight is light in the Scale, 8 He will have his home in Hawiyah (pit, i.e. Hell). 9 What will convey to you what this is like? 10 (It is) a Fire which is extremely hot. 11
