Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 Nay, in time you will come to understand! 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 Indeed you will see hell. 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the sight of certainty. 7 then you shall be questioned that day concerning true bliss. 8
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
