Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

YOU ARE OBSESSED by greed for more and more 1 until you come to the graves. 2 No! You are going to know. 3 Nay, but ye will come to know! 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 Indeed you will see hell. 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours. 8

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
