Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 until you visit the graves. 2 You shall know. 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 that you shall surely see Hell? 6 Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty; 7 then you shall be questioned that day concerning true bliss. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
