Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The emulous desire of abundance engrosseth you, 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 But you will soon come to know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 you would see the fire of Hell. 6 Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then on that day you shall most certainly be questioned about the boons. 8
