Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 until you come to the graves. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 Again, no indeed; but soon you shall know. 4 No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... 5 you would see the fire of Hell. 6 Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure. 8

God the Almighty always says the truth.
