Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 But you will come to know soon; -- 3 Indeed you will come to know soon. 4 And yet if you knew with positive knowledge 5 Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire! 6 You would see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
