Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, 1 until you reach your graves. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 Again, ye soon shall know! 4 You will certainly have the knowledge of your deeds beyond all doubt. 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 Then on that day you will surely be asked about the verity of pleasures. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
