Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

The desire to have more of the worldly gains have pre-occupied you so much (that you have neglected remembring God), 1 Until you confronted the graves. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 Indeed, did you know with certain knowledge 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then on that day you will surely be asked about the verity of pleasures. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
