Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 till you reached the grave. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 nay, again, you shall soon come to know. 4 Indeed, did you know with certain knowledge 5 You will surely see the Hellfire. 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the eye of certainty 7 and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life! 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
