Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 Until you come to the graves. 2 Nay, in time you will come to understand! 3 Again, Nay! You shall come to know! 4 Indeed, did you know with certain knowledge 5 you shall surely see Hell; 6 Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
