Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Abundance diverts you, 1 until you reach your graves. 2 No! You are going to know. 3 Then no! You are going to know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 you would see the fire of Hell. 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the sight of certainty. 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
