Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 But you will come to know soon; -- 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 No indeed; did you know with the knowledge of certainty, 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. 7 On that Day, you shall be questioned about the pleasures. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
